Esterházy Art Award

Founded in 2009, the Esterházy Art Award supports young, talented Hungarian artists and their international dialogue and exchange. It consists of at least two, maximum three €5000 prizes each, awarded every two years to artists selected by an independent international jury. It is an open call for Hungarian artists below the age of 45 working in painting and other associated techniques.

The 21 nominees for 2017 were selected by the jury from a pool of 266 applicants.  A selection of works by nominated artists will be on view at Ludwig Museum – Museum of Contemporary Art in Budapest from December 15th, 2017 to January 14th, 2018.
